Burn up to 1000 Calories in an Hour

How many calories did I just say?  Up to 1000!

On my weight loss journey I have done many workouts!  By far my favorite is still the Turbo Jam series! Chaleen Johnson makes exercise so fun!  And in studies it shows you can burn up to a 1000 calories in one hour with her Turbo Jam workouts!  And they are FUN!  So much so you won't believe how fast the workout is!

Tonight I wanted to do some scultping as well as some cardio so I pulled out Turbo Jam Total Body!  The entire workout is done with an exercise ball!  I absolutely love working out with an exercise ball!  It intensifies everything!  Push ups, sit ups, bridge work and works your arms and legs like crazy!  Imagine squats while squeezing the exercise ball between your knees!  And holding the ball and raising it over head from side to side while lunging and doing cardio!  I'm gonna be feeling this tomorrow!

Turbo Jam was the system I used to my baby weight!  All 60 pounds of it!

If you want to try any of the Turbo Jam workouts for yourself go here www.teambeachbody.com/amyfreemon and search Turbo Jam!  As with all Beachbody workouts, it comes with a money back guarantee!

Operation "Bring on the Skinny Jeans"!

While I know I will never wear skinny jeans (God gave me hips and thighs, so it just won't happen), I can still go for my size 4 Calvin Kleins!

Those are my go to jeans that let me know I've hit my goal!  It's not about a number on the scale!  It's about getting back into those jeans! I want to be back in them for the fall!

So I'm working on a "Bring on the skinny jeans" challenge group.  I would love to have people join me.  I'm still getting all the details together, so if you want to join me message me!  I will be glad to help you fit into your skinny jeans too!

Until I get all the details worked out I'm doing a PIYO/P90X3 hybrid!  This morning was PIYO sculpt and usually it takes 24 hours for the soreness to kick in, but at the 12 hour mark my thighs and bumm were screaming as I tried to walk up the stairs.

Humm maybe I should include PIYO in the skinny jeans challenge!

Did I mention my triceps are starting to scream too?  Those tricep push-ups and dips will do that to ya.

You can get your own copy of PIYO here www.teambeachbody.com/amyfreemon

My Story of Surviving Breast Cancer and Breast Feeding After Treatment!

Today's post is not food or exercise related.  It's a post of my story!

Over the weekend I had a chance to tell my story at a World Breast Feeding event!

I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer at the young age of 27!  With no family history it took us by surprise!

I had a very aggressive form of Breast Cancer and was treated aggressively.  I had a lumpectomy, 4 rounds of chemo, 6 weeks of daily radiation and 5 years of Tamoxifen!

Yes I lost my hair.  Yes I got sick.  Yes I lost weight and then gained it back plus more.   But I did not lose my ability to have a baby!

I was told I would go into menopause with chemo.  When I didn't, I was told I would go into menopause with Tamoxifen!  When I didn't I asked if I could try to have a baby at my 5 year check up.

The Dr told me I could try but she couldn't promise my ovaries would work!

First month we tried we got pregnant!  Praise God!  God showed the Doctors who was and always will be in charge!

I welcomed my beautiful baby girl in Aug of 2009!  She will 5 this month and tells everyone she is mommy's miracle baby!

With the treatment I underwent I was unable to Breast Feed on the treated breast.  After many months of pumping and nursing around the clock I was finally able to provide enough milk to stop supplementing with formula!  Praise God!

I nursed my sweet girl until her 4th birthday!  People think I was crazy!  One for going through the months of the around the clock nursing/pumping sessions and then for nursing for as long as I did!  I wasn't crazy!  I was smart!  Nursing will help my sweet girls chance of getting Breast Cancer really low and helps my chance of reccurance be low as well!

I have been able to share my story at many events.  Most of them have been Breast Cancer events!  I love to share my story of survival ship!

I should note that my family history changed a few years into my fight!  My mom is now a 7 year survivor too!  And we do not carry the gene!

Always check your boobies!

Spaghetti Squash

Have you tried spaghetti squash?

It's such a good alternative to pasta!  The key is finding the right way to cook it!

Cut the spaghetti squash in two.
Scoop seeds out into trash.
Place cut side down in crockpot.
Poor half to whole can of spaghetti sauce around squash.
Put grilled chicken around in the sauce.  (I used frozen grilled chicken bites)

Cover and cook on high 3.5 hours.
Pull squash out with tongs or hot pad hands!  (Very important, it will be hot)
Fork shred  the insides into noodles.
Serve sauce from the crockpot!

This made a big casserole full of squash noodles!  I will have different kinds of spaghetti all week!  Might even make some cauliflower Alfredo one night to have on it too!

Eat some Veggies with your Breakfast!

Veggies are the hardest for lots of people to eat and now you read "eat them for breakfast"!  Have I lost it?  Nope, I'm serious!

How you ask?

Omelets!  You can put so many veggies in an omelet!

I got a spinach and kale mix at Walmart the other day.  I was originally going to use it for smoothies but this morning I really wanted some eggs.  So I made an omelet with them.

Spinach/kale, mushroom omelet

1 whole egg and 2 extra egg whites
1 handful spinach/kale mix
3 mushrooms chopped up
1 wedge laughing cow cheese

Cook omelete and when eggs are not runny add veggies and cheese

I served this with 1/2 cup of pink grapefruit!

I was full till lunch after this breakfast!

Lunch was a Shakeology with strawberry Shakeology, 8oz water, 1/2 banana, 1/2 cup blueberries and a handful of just spinach.

Dinner was a salad with turkey, egg whites, dried cranberries and walnuts

Snacks today were almonds and a Greek yogurt

What to do when you Overindulge!

We've all done it.  We've gone out to eat and eaten too much.  Sneaked way too much candy from the kids candy stash.  Had too much to drink.  Ate half the bag of chips without even realizing it.

So the question is what do you next?  Do you skip your next meal to recover some of those extra calories?  NO!  The best thing you can do is eat a healthy meal for the next meal!  It will reset your brain into healthy eating mode again and ward of starving.  If you try to skip the meal you will end up starving and binge again.

If you are drinking Shakeology you can do what I do and do a 3 day cleanse.  I like to do them every so often as a good cleanse!  It is gentle on your tummy and fills you full of vitamins and nutrients without chemicals and fake sugars!

So if you over did it this weekend it's ok.  Brush it off and get back on track!

Avocado Egg Salad

I love egg salad.  It's one of my favorites!  But man the calories will get you!

What's a healthy eater to do?  Make it another way.  I normally would make it with Greek yogurt butI didn't   have any plain.  But I have avocados on the counter!  Oh yes I love those too!

Introducing......

I used one whole egg, 1 extra egg white, some avocado, squirt or two of mustard (to personal taste) and 1 tsp pickle relish.  Mix all together and serve on tomato slices.  I also had some strawberries too!

21 Day Fix breakdown: 1 red, 1 blue, 1/2 green, and 1\2 purple

I will definetly have this again and again!  Maybe even tomorrow!
