Making it Thru The Holidays

I don't know about you but eating thru the holidays have always been a struggle for me.

I can easily start in October and not stop till New Years.  Why?  All the fun food!  All the parties and get togethers!  All the yummy seasonal food!

So what's a girl to do?  Sit back and watch the weight gain?  Or come up with a game plan?

Game plan it is!

I didn't make it thru October (due to my wonderful cold/cough/sickness) so it is a game plan for November and December!

21 Day Fix is the game plan!

What's the 21 Day Fix?  It's a eating program that teaches proper portion control with these wonderful containers that are color coded!  It also includes 30 minute workouts which are especially helpful when we are so busy during the holidays!

Start on Nov 3 and go till Thanksgiving!  Enjoy Thanksgiving without stressing.  Do a 3 day Shakeology cleanse Friday, Saturday and Sunday.  Then start another round of 21 Day Fix on  Dec 1 and go thru till Christmas Eve.  Enjoy Christmas Eve and Christmas Day without stressing!  Then follow with a 3 day Shakeology cleanse after.

This is a wonderful way to get us thru the season of eating!  Now there may be days where there is a party and as the holidays as get closer I will post some tips to help with those times.

Are you excited yet?  I am and can't wait to get started!

If you want to join me you can order your own 21 Day Fix here www.teambeachbody.com/amyfreemon and click on the challenge tab and select 21 Day Fix!

Two New Recipes

Another successful green smoothie/juice today!

Handful of spinach/kale mix, 10oz water, 3/4 cup frozen strawberries, 1/4 frozen banana, and 1/2 cup frozen orange sections!  Blend in my vitamix and it was sooo good!

Lunch was a strawberrie Shakeology with water and 1 tblsp of sf/ff pistachio pudding mix.  Yummo!

Dinner was a zucchini lasagna!
Slice 1 zucchini long wise
1 jar or less of butternut squash spaghetti sauce (I found at Aldis)
4oz low fat cottage cheese
Sprinkle of shredded mozzarella

Layer the zucchini, cottage cheese and spaghetti sauce until all of the zucchini has been used.  Sprinkle some shredded mozzarella ontop.  Cover and bake 20-25 min at 350.  Your wanting the zucchini to be tender but not mushy.

This was a wonderful alternative to pasta lasagna.  I will definitely make this again.  This made two servings so I will be having it for lunch tomorrow!

Finally Feeling Somewhat Normal Again

This fall crud is no fun.  Mine has been around for about 3 weeks and I'm still coughing a little bit.  Praising though that no one else in my house got this.  Nor did anyone of my kiddos at work.

I did a lot of reading and researching while I was taking it easy.  Great news for you guys!  I've got some much going through my mind for the future.  Woohoo!

Up first.......I'm attempting juicing again.  Well I should say green smoothies.  Juicing requires a juicer and I use my vitamix!  Like it better for two reasons:  easier to use and clean as well as I need the bulk from the fruits not just the juice.

First green smoothie was awesome!

Handful of spinach/kale mix, 1/4 frozen banana, 3/4 cup frozen strawberries, 1/2 an apple and 8 oz of water!  This was amazing!  I will definetly have to make it again!  And great news.....it kept me full for several hours!  Score!

My second attempt this morning was an epic fail!  It was so bad I couldn't even drink it.  I tried making it with red leaf spring lettuce.  Um, NO!  I put frozen strawberries and frozen grapes with 8oz of water with the lettuce and all I tasted was the lettuce.  So I added a half of an apple and still only lettuce. So I poured it out.  I think I will stick to spinach, kale or cabbage from now on.

Do you have any green smoothie recipes that I should try?

Another yummy recipe I had today......Chocolate Pumpkin Shakeology

So easy and yummy!
1/2 cup of So Delicious Pumpkin Coconut Milk, 1/2 cup of water, 1/2 cup pumpkin purée, and chocolate Shakeology!  Blend and enjoy!  My pumpkin purée was frozen but if you don't have frozen purée and only fresh throw some ice cubes in it.

If you would like to try Shakeology out for yourself go here: www.teambeachbody.com/amyfreemon

I've had two great days if working out too!  I REALLY missed working out while I was sick!  I have to workout!  It's my stress reliever!

Where is Pinkgirlfitness?

Have you been missing me?

I've been missing me!

I'm currently struggling with a cold/sinus infection/ear infection/sore throat!

It's not fun and it's really messing with my workouts and eating!

What is it about being sick that you don't the way you should?  Wish I knew!

But don't fret, as I've been laying in bed so much I've come up with lots of clean eating meals!  I can't wait to get back to 100% to get back on track!

Any tips for me to kick this!  I'm on antibiotics (which I fought, but knew as long as I've had it that I needed).
