Do You Ever Feel Like Not Working Out?

Sometimes I have days where I just don't feel like working out.  Today is one of those days!  Just not feeling too well.  I'm glad the only workout I had planned today was Abs.  

The key is to make sure one day off doesn't turn into two or three.  

Days like this is when I wish I was a morning person and could workout before work!  When I was younger I could but as I got older I enjoy that extra little bit of sleep!   

Maybe this summer when school is out and I'm out of work for the summer I will reprogram my mind to wake up early.  Or at least workout earlier in the day!

My goal for each week is to workout 5-6 days a week.  I try to include three days of toning/weights and  at least three days of cardio.  Most weeks I will do extra cardio on my toning days.  I love cardio!

Workouts don't have to be an hour either as long as the intensity is good!  P90X3 and T25 are both awesome workouts that are short on time!

Looking Cute While Working Out?

Oh yes I love some cute workout clothes!  I always feel better when I workout in cute workout clothes!  It's a mind thing but it makes working out so much fun!


Don't ya love the placement of my googley eyes?  I put them up all over the house for April Fools Day and everyone loved them so much we kept some of them up.  It's brightens your day when your having a bad day and look in the mirror and see those cute eyes looking back at ya.

I got a kick out of them being on my sports bra that I had to use this pic!

Target has some really cute workout clothes too!  I get the majority of my workout clothes from Target. Great prices all the time, but they put stuff on clearance so fast I rarely pay full price!  I did get the skirt I'm wearing from Beachbody though!  I have a matching sports bra for it but it doesn't give the girls enough support on HIIT days!  Need some support with all that jumping!  Maybe I will wear it tomorrow since it's just an Abs day.  ðŸ˜‰

I love cute workout shoes too!  As long as they support my feet good!

I use Nike Shox most of the time!  They support my feet and knees with all my jumping.  My feet are starting to hurt halfway thru my workout so I know that means they are wearing out!  I try to wear them only for workouts.  Since they are near the end of their workout life span I've been wearing them out of the house.  I mean hey they are cute so the world should see them sometime.  They still look brand new.  Guess I will ask for a new pair for Mother's Day!  I'll post a pic if I get some!

Yummy Day

I loved all of my meals today!  It makes me so happy to make food that is healthy and tasty!

Breakfast
Peach Strawberry Shakeology!

I used a pack of strawberry Shakeology, 1/2 cup water and 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk, and frozen peaches!

Snack
1/4 cup cinnamon almonds (so proud I stopped with one serving)

Lunch
Leftover cauliflower crust pizza, egg salad/avocado dip on celery and strawberries

For the egg salad/avocado dip I used one hard boiled egg and one 100 calorie pack of guacamole!  Very easy and tasty!
The cauliflower crust pizza was 1/2 head cauliflower riced (I used my vitamix), 1 egg, 1/4 Italian cheese blend and some Italian seasoning.  
Mix all ingredients and bake for 20 min at 350.  
After the center had set I added tomato paste, sliced mushrooms and Italian cheese and put it back I the oven till the cheese melted!

Snack
Sweet peppers wrapped in nitrate free lunch meat (I used roast beef and honey) with spicy mustard

Dinner
Cauliflower Alfredo over high fiber noodles and a salad with salsa as dressing

The cauliflower Alfredo sauce was so easy to make
1/2 head cauliflower boiled in chicken stock till soft
Then I puréed it in my vitamix with a cup of the chicken stock, a handful of Italian cheese blend and garlic powder

Dessert
I got hungry a little after dinner so I had a 90 calorie fiber one bar.  I know it's because I didn't have any protein in my dinner.  I must change that for next time I make this meal!


I got my Turbo Fire workout done this morning and I only had 2 cups of coffee!  Great day for me!

Chia Seed Spa Water

So I've been reading so much on Chia seeds and I decided I need to have more.

I'm already adding them to my Shakeology shakes every day so what else can I do with them?  Well I can add them to my salads.  I haven't tried that yet.  So I heard you can put them in your water.

So I made a spa water yesterday with them and I loved it!


Hard to see my little chia seeds floating around in my bottle with its rubber guard but I use glass water bottles so it's on there to protect against breakage.

This is the recipe I used:

4 cups water
2 tsp chia seeds
1 tblsp raw honey warmed a little to be able to stir in (no fake honey in the bear with added yucky stuff)
1/2 cup Fresh or frozen fruit 

Shake it up really good to mix and pour into water bottle and store the rest on the fridge.  Shake before adding more to your water bottle later.

I also added some lemon oil to mine but I did not add it to my water until it was in the glass bottle so the lemon wouldn't make the plastic leach into my water.

It was so good and I loved being able to go the potty the next morning!  ðŸ˜‰

Turbo Fire / Brazil Butt Lift Hybrid

As I mentioned the other day I'm starting a high intensity workout rotation tomorrow.  I'm gonna burn off this layer of fluff and tighten my booty!

I wanted to give you the schedule I am using incase of any you are wanting to do it also!  I'm so excited to be starting this one!  I love Chalean Johnson (the creator of Turbo Fire) and I love what Brazil Butt Lift is doing for my lower body!  The combo of these two should get me to my after pic!

I plan on following a combo of eating menus.  I will post a lot of what I eat but I will definitely be having Shakeology for one meal a day!

I also am trying to limit my coffee and cinnamon almonds this rotation.  Both of these are so yummy and are my current addictions!  I think they are hindering my weight loss!  I am going to try to not have as many cheat meals these next two months either.  I do know there will be a few.  Mothers Day is in two weeks and my anniversary is in three weeks.  But the goal is to only have a little extra on those days.  I want to be swimsuit ready for the pool when it opens next month!

Shakeology Cleanse Done! Down 3.5 Pounds!

So I finished the three days of my Shakeology cleanse yesterday!  I'm happy to say I'm down 3.5 pounds!  I feel much better after drinking 6 shakes in 3 days!  


Lots of people ask me if I spent the last 3 days in the bathroom and the answer is NO!  It doesn't effect me that way!  

I'm finishing my last week on Brazil Butt Lift and can really see the difference in my body!  


I can't wait to start my hybrid next week!  I'm combining Turbo Fire and Brazil Butt Lift!  Still working on my lower body and burn the last layer of fluff off too!

Here is what I ate today:

Breakfast:  Almond Shakeology 
    1/2 cup almond milk, 1/2 cup water, 1/2 cup ice
    1 tblsp Almond Butter

Snack:  Cheese stick and grapes 

Lunch:  Veggie Burger and apples

1 veggie burger, 1/4 avocado, salsa on whole wheat flat bun, and 1 small apple

Snack:  Whole Wheat Crackers with salsa

Dinner:  Grilled Chicken with roasted potatoes, onions and peppers with marinated mushrooms and 3 dark choc covered strawberries (the Dole frozen ones)

Grilled the chicken on the grill with a low fat ginger dressing as the marinade
Roasted potatoes/veggies were from Trader Joes (freezer section). So easy and yummy
Marinated mushrooms:  boiled the mushrooms for 5 min and then marinated in 1 tbsp red wine vinegar, 1 tbsp soy sauce, 1/4 tbsp olive oil and some garlic powder.

Chia Seeds Anyone?

So I've heard a lot about Chia seeds and how good they are for you and how they help you feel full.  I finally gave them a try today.

I was so afraid it would change the taste of my Shakeology shakes.  Boy was I wrong.  It didn't change the taste or the texture.

And I did feel full for over three hours!  Might have even been longer but it was snack time at school so I have to eat when I get my chance.


I had a strawberry, peach, mango, carrot Shakeology 

Strawberry Shakeology
10 oz of water and 1/2 cup ice
1/2 of a fruit/veggie squeeze pouch (I used the peach, mango, carrot flavor)
1 tbsp Chia seeds

I blended in a vitamix and it mixed very well.  Milkshake consistency every time I use it for my shakes!

I'm already thinking of what flavor shake I will have tomorrow morning!

Do You Ever Over Do It?

Happy Easter!  I enjoyed celebrating the day!  My savior is risen!

With this holiday comes family and friend gatherings and tooooooo much food!  I usually take my cheat meals on the weekends.  Unforunately I some times over do it.  Like this weekend.  And now I don't feel good.  I need to learn to take my cheat meals a little better.  Only one per week and not too much of anything.  Just a little bit of my favorites.

Never fear though.  Tomorrow is a new week and a new start.  I will do a Shakeology cleanse for the next couple of days to cleanse myself of the yuckies I took in, lol.






The plan:

Breakfast and Lunch for the next two (maybe 3) days will be Shakeology and fruit

Snack in the morning will be Greek yogurt

Snack in the afternoon will probably be another Shakeology or veggies with guacamole 

Dinner will be salads with lean protein (chicken, turkey, hard boiled eggs)

Lots of extra water and green tea!



Workouts:  depending on my energy level (with a cleanse it can be lower) I plan on getting  up 25 min early and doing a T25 cardio routine and in the evenings I will continue with my. Brazil Butt Lift workouts!

How Do You Reward Yourself?

Lots of people reward themselves with food when they hit a goal.  This is not a good practice to get in to.  You don't want to blow all your hard work!

I recently finished the P90X3 workout program.  I haven't rewarded myself yet.  I didn't know what I wanted.  That was until today. My favorite trainer Chalean Johnson, the creator of Turbo Jam, Turbo Fire, ChaLean Extreme and the soon to be released PIYO, announced a sale on turbo wear!  I have always wanted some cute turbo wear but it was always out of my price range.  Until today. Wait, did I say that already?  Anyhow tops and bottoms that are normally over $30 or more are on clearance for $10 and under.  I got a workout top, tank top and a cute, cute, cute workout skort!  All for the price of one shirt!  Woohoo!  So excited!  It will be here just in time for me to start my Turbo Fire round in two weeks!

21 Day Menu April 15

I am still loving the simplicity of this way of eating!  It makes so much sense.  Over eating is easy to do! Trust me I know.  I've suffered from binge eating for years.  It can still rear it's ugly head every now and then.  Eating disorders are no joke.  If you or someone you know someone who has one please get help!

With my eating disorder I can easily fall back into binge eating so I have to be really careful.  I schedule my cheat meals and I keep my trigger foods out of the house as much as possible.  My therapist taught me years ago that if I with held my favorite foods it could definitely cause me to relapse.  Thus the cheat meal every week.  

With that said here is another day on the 21 Day Fix!

Breakfast: High Fiber cereal with almond milk and 1/2 banana equals 1 and 1/2 yellow, 1 purple


Snack: Cottage cheese and strawberries equals 1 red and 1/2 purple

Lunch: Sweet peppers wrapped in nitrate free turkey, rice chips, 1/2 apple with 2 tsp PB equals 1 green, 1 red, 1/2 purple and 2 tsp


Snack: Peanuts and cheese stick equals 1 orange and 1 blue

Dinner: Chef salad with turkey and hard boiled egg as well as homemade tomato soup equals 2 green, 1 red, and 1/2 orange for the olives on my salad


After workout snack: Strawberry Shakeology equals 1 red

Great day of eating and working out!  I did a T25 workout today as well as my Brazil Butt Lift!  I love that the T25 was only 25 minutes and it really got my heart rate up.  I did the cardio workout and it was awesome!  There is also a modifier if you don't want to do high impact!  I love that beachbody makes workouts for everyone!

Another 21 Day Fix Day

Another thing I am loving about this program is it's bringing me out of my comfort zone with food!  I have never wanted to eat asparagus.  Tried it once and wasn't a fan.  Always heard it was so good for me though.  Well today I found a way to enjoy it!

Breakfast: 2 eggs (runny in the middle) equals 1 red
                5 asparagus spears equals 1/2 green
                1 slice whole wheat toast equals 1 yellow
                1/2 pink grapefruit equals 1 purple


I let the runny yolk go all over the asparagus and I really liked it!


Snack: cheese stick and pineapple equals 1 blue and 1 purple

Snack: peanuts and whole wheat crackers with PB equals 1 orange, 1/2 yellow and 2 tsp

Late Lunch:  Strawberry Shakeology with almond extract equals 1 red


Snack:  turkey slices equals 1 red

Late Dinner: pasta with spaghetti sauce and lentils, salad, and green beans equals 1 yellow, 1/2 red, 2 green

I did go over by 1/2 yellow but it's ok.  My meals where all messed up today since I had a late lunch and late dinner.

Life Happens

I love that with changing your eating habits rather than following a diet you know it's ok if you slip up.  I have followed the low carb diet several times over my many years of trying to lose weight. Did I lose weight?  Yes I did.  But I also could blow the whole diet if I ate one bad meal.  :(. That would turn into a major downfall for me, as I would keep eating carbs because I was depressed I ruined my diet.

Now I eat clean, or as clean as possible I should say.  I'm playing with the 21 Day Fix containers and learning the right amounts of the right foods to eat.  I did great for several days this week.  I also had some days where I didn't do so great. I didn't beat myself up over it.  I just know that tomorrow is a new day and I can choose to either eat good or eat bad.  I am choosing to eat good.  I have a swimsuit that I want to wear this summer.  

I think one of the biggest eating mistakes people can make when they want to lose weight is to restrict themselves of certain foods.  I craved pasta like crazy while I was doing low carb.  So I learned that I can still eat pasta and be healthy as long as I eat the right portion.  Gone are the days of filling my plate with pasta like I'm at an Italian Restaurant.  I use my handy dandy 21 Day Fix container and put my pasta on my plate.  I enjoy my favorite food and I don't feel deprived!

Day 4 on 21 Day Fix

Some days don't go as planned.  :(

I started the day off great and had plans in place for everything......

Breakfast:  Oatmeal and grapefruit 1 yellow and 1 purple

Snack:  cheese stick 1 blue

Lunch:  in the car strawberry Shakeology with 4 oz choc almond milk and 6 oz water and fruit cup of strawberries and pineapples 1 red, 1/2 yellow and 1 purple

Snack:  also in car sunflower seeds and almond mix 1 orange as well as cracker chips 1/2 yellow

Dinner:  this is where it fell apart.....my hubby decided to take us out to dinner. I had a plan to get a nice salad with shrimp or grilled chicken.  We get to the restaurant and my non meat eating daughter has no choices on the kids menu other than meat.  Nice right?  So what's a good momma to do.....order pasta to split with her.  I had a side salad to start off with and then went with 1/4 of the serving.  But then I ate the bread that came with it and a couple of the fried shrimps off my hubby's plate and half of his crab cake.  Good intentions down the drain.  And now I'm paying for it.  Not feeling too well.  

But I'm human.  We all are.  We will have some slip ups.  The key is to pick ourselves up and not let them stick around the next day and the next day.  

Tomorrow is a new day and I will probably do some extra cardio.  Scratch that.  I will do extra cardio.

Day 3 on 21 Day Fix

I'm done with day three and still doing good!

Breakfast: 2 eggs and strawberries > equals 1 red and 1 purple



I didn't get hungry till lunch!

Lunch:  egg salad with Greek yogurt, whole wheat wrap, celery sticks > equals 1 red, 1 yellow and 1 green


I made my egg salad with 1 whole egg and 1 egg white, tablespoon of Greek yogurt and a squirt of spicy mustard.  Notice I had enough to fill the wrap and my celery sticks!   Score!

Snack:  Choc  Shakeology with water and frozen cherries > equals 1 red and 1 purple

So yummy even my microwave was eye balling it!  ;)


Snack:  Crackers and Salsa with a cheese stick > equals 1 yellow, 1/4 green and 1 fat



Dinner:  Crab stuffed flounder (from Trader Joes), salad and green beans/carrots > equals 1 red, 2 green and 1 orange for the dressing (I used a ginger dressing with 35 cal per 2 tbls)


I just finished my Brazil Butt Lift workout and I did a little extra cardio since the flounder was stuffed with a crab mix.  Never hurts to burn a couple extra calories after a big dinner.

I'm getting pretty good with the containers now.  I can guess pretty much as to what will fit in them now.  All though I didn't think the flounder would fit but it did.

Day 2 of 21 Day Fix

Another easy and yummy day on the 21 Day Fix!

Breakfast: 1 strawberry sp k waffle with 2 tsp PB and 1/2 banana 1 yellow, 1 purple and 2 tsp



Snack:  yogurt equals 1 red

Lunch:  Chef Salad with lettuce, carrots, zucchini, brocoli, 1 hard boiled eggs and chicken with salsa as dressing with a side of pineapple equals 1 green, 1 red and 1 purple

Snack: cheese equals to 1 blue

Dinner:  I had the leftovers of the shrimp, quinoa and veggies equals 1 red, 1 yellow and 2 green

Had a late workout and still had a red left so I just had yummy strawberry Shakeology with a dash of vanilla extract!

Great day number 2!

First Day on 21 Day Fix

Wow is all I can say!  This was an unbelievable day on this eating plan!  I can't believe how much food I got to eat.

Breakfast
Oatmeal: I filled one yellow container with oatmeal
Pink grapefruit 1/2 of one is equal to 1 purple

Snack
Greek yogurt and almonds equal to 1 red and 1 blue

Lunch
Buffalo Chicken Salad wraps on romain lettuce 1 red
I filled a red container with grilled chicken strips, added some Greek yogurt and hot sauce to taste and then spread on romain lettuce
Celery and cherry tomatoes 1 green
Strawberries and grapes 1 purple


Snack (when I was finally hungry after 4 hours)
Thin Mint Shakeology 1 red
1 scoop choc Shakeology
Dash of mint extract
8-10oz water

Dinner
Shrimp, veggie and quinoa 1 red, 1 yellow and 1 green
I made quinoa according to package
Cold shrimp
Mushrooms and carrots

I used mustard for my dip for my shrimp! 

This was so good I plan on having it again tomorrow.

Tropical Orange-Strawberry Shakeology and April Sales

So another yummy Shakeology today!

Tropical Orange-Strawberry Shakeology
1 scoop tropical or reg strawberry Shakeology (I used tropical for this one today)
1/2 cup OJ
1/2 cup water
1 frozen orange (I had blood oranges in my freezer so that's what I used)
Blend till mixed 

It was very yummy and so filling.  I could barely finish it.
